Aircuity Recognized as Key Contributor to Santa Monica College Significantly Improving Energy Efficiency Across its Campus

Santa Monica College Receives Energy Reduction Rebate Checks as a Result of Leveraging
Aircuity’s Demand Control Ventilation Technology.

Aircuity, the smart airside efficiency company, today announced that it was recognized as a key contributor to Santa Monica College (SMC) reducing energy costs and providing superior Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) across its campus. On Tuesday, February 1, Aircuity and The George Yardley Company (installing distributor) joined SMC’s Board of Trustees as the school was presented with two rebate checks for its energy-reducing retrofit project, which were given as a result of a 10-month project in which SMC retrofitted the ventilation system in its Science Building. Aircuity’s OptiNet system will generate cost savings that will equate to approximately $1.5 million over the next 10 years.

Using demand control ventilation (DCV) technology, Aircuity’s multiplexed air sensing and measurement system will be able to continuously sense and analyze the building’s indoor environment and provide intelligent inputs to the building management systems, making adjustments to the ventilation flow as needed and allowing the facility to optimize airflow in an efficient manner.

“Aircuity’s DCV technology has helped Santa Monica College achieve over $140,000 in annual energy savings while helping to maintain comfortable levels of indoor environmental quality across its campus,” said Pat Romich, CEO of Aircuity.” We are very proud to be a part of this event, and the role Aircuity has played helping SMC and the California Community College system lead the charge in reaching their aggressive sustainability goals.”
